Mercy

Mercy is a planet in the Southern Branch of Hanaq, notable for its perpetual cloud cover that hides the planet's true surface. The planet has a complex history of divine magic incidents and colonization, and serves as the primary setting of the Mercy Saga.

Geography

The planet's habitable areas exist primarily on massive floating islands above a dense layer of clouds. Below these clouds lies the true surface, long abandoned after a catastrophic divine magic incident. The surface was briefly exposed during the Mercy Saga when a massive angelic orb emerged through the cloud layer, revealing the underground Marrow Kingdom.

The planet is filled with the bones of Titans.

Major Settlements

Port Town

The capitol of Mercy and center of Esperanto's administration on the planet. Located on the same island as South Hoofsteady.

North Hoofsteady

A settlement near the Burning Forest where Governor Gummo maintains a residence when away from the capitol. The town was significantly impacted by events in the Burning Forest during the Mercy Saga.

South Hoofsteady

Located north of Port Town, South Hoofsteady serves as Mayor Meansly's residence. The town struggled with widespread Demon Dust addiction among its population.

Littlewood

A notorious pirate haven loosely governed by Roo before its destruction by the Angelic Orb. Despite its criminal reputation, the town maintained a significant presence in local trade.

Mercy Eden

A remote settlement that concealed a Stellar Seekers monastery. The town's isolation helped maintain the monastery's secrecy until events during the Mercy Saga.

Points of Interest

The Sisters Line Dungeon

A significant Ley Line dungeon with the Pink Dice Bar established above it. The nearby Shady Oaks Village served as a common rest stop for dungeon explorers.

The Burning Forest

A significant location near North Hoofsteady that played a crucial role in the Mercy Saga's events.

History

Over a century ago, a failed divine magic resurrection attempt by Mercy's then-ruling monarchy devastated much of the planet's surface. When Esperanto began colonizing the floating islands decades later, they established administrative control while unknowingly existing above the isolated Marrow Kingdom. Despite the appearance of the angelic orb and exposure of the Marrow Kingdom, Mercy continues to operate under Esperanto's direct colonial governance, maintaining its stance against piracy and illegal activities.
